Here we have my first composition made with "Versum": a tool to build audiovisual compositions with, which I programmed myself. Versum is the better looking and sounding brother of Systeem.

Creaturama

This is a video registration of Creaturama, an interactive installation that we developed for the STRP festival in Eindhoven. "We" in this case stands for Cassandra Bron, Jorn van Dijk, Dennis Heida, Geert van Hooff, Suzanne van Hooff and myself: all students at the faculty KMT of the Utrecht School of the Arts.

The installation reacts to the presence of visitors (especially if they're wearing one of our lovely hats) and translates their actual positions to the positions of digitally manufactured creatures on the screen. These creatures then react to one and other and create musical sounds in rythmical patterns.

Matseq

Matseq is an audio-visual composition, composed in a virtual space (which I programmed myself) with virtual instruments. What you see here is not a videoclip, what you see is the musical piece itself.

The sounds as well as the visuals are all synthesized in realtime, as can also be seen in this little demonstration movie.
